Botco.ai Release Notes
Release Version: August 2024 Update
Release Date: August 30, 2024
Introduction
The August 2024 update for Botco.ai brings exciting new capabilities to streamline chatbot interactions, optimize user data handling, and enhance overall platform functionality. This release includes significant improvements to InstaStack integration, the new FormAI card, URL deployment filtering, and more. These enhancements are designed to simplify chatbot setup, improve the accuracy of user data collection, and provide more dynamic content management.
New Features and Improvements
1. InstaStack AI Training: Show Transcripts
- Now you can view transcripts within InstaStack AI training sessions.
- How to use: Go to the InstaStack Training interface to see the user interaction transcripts and improve bot responses based on actual conversations.
2. InstaStack AI Training: Mark "Trained" (Auto Disappear)
- Once an AI response is fully trained, it will automatically disappear from the training page.
- How to use: After reviewing and training a response, mark it as complete, and it will automatically be removed from the pending training list.
3. FormAI Card
- A powerful new card that leverages AI to collect specific answers from users in a flexible, freeform conversational flow.
- How to use:
- Set up a FormAI card in a new block and define the fields you want to collect (e.g., first name, last name, email).
- Incorporate validation rules (e.g., email format, phone number restrictions).
- Add a text card to display the question and a Goto Card for the form's completion or incompletion.
- Test the form by outputting key values such as status and collected information (e.g., first_name, last_name, email).
This system allows for more natural conversation, but may not be ideal if questions need to be asked in a specific format.
Issues addressed with previous form versions:
- Form fields needed to be answered in a specific order.
- No option to exit the form mid-process.
- Simple validations were cumbersome.
- Formatting answers such as stripping niceties was difficult. For example, turning "My name is John" into "John" was not possible with older forms.
4. Domain-Level URL Matching at Deployment
- Customers can now apply domain-level matching for URLs, making it easier to differentiate referral codes across different URLs within the same deployment.
- How to use: When setting up a URL filter at the deployment screen, use domain and wildcard matching. For example,
customer.com/**
will match any URL undercustomer.com
, allowing specific referral codes to be applied to different URLs.
5. Status Updates: Doc_Type Field for Root URLs in Webcrawl
- To prevent excessive pages from appearing in the knowledge base, only the collection name will show for crawled content until a specific link is clicked.
- How to use: The knowledge base now only displays collection names, with individual crawled pages hidden until necessary, improving content organization.
Bug Fixes
- Resolved various minor bugs and performance improvements for a smoother user experience.
- Enhanced shard maintenance for better performance in production instances.
