Image ratios, file types and character limitations to help you format the assets for your bot.

Text Card

  • 640 character limit

Gallery Card

  • up to 10 items in one card
  • horizontal image aspect ratio is 1.91:1 or 1920x1080 pixels
  • Square image aspect ratio is 1:1 or 1000x1000 pixels
  • item title has an 80 character limit
  • item subtitle has an 80 character limit
  • optional buttons are limited to 3 per item
  • [ Facebook Messenger Only ] will only appear to users based in European Economic Area (EEA) countries on mobile, not on desktop (more info on Facebook's EEA policies)

Image Card

  • jpg, png, gif (coming soon...)
  • for best results keep the number of frames for dynamic GIFs below 75

Video

  • mp4
  • max. 25 MB after Facebook's transcoding

💡 Important to keep in mind:

The heavier the picture is, the longer it takes to load in Messenger or in webchat. Something below 500KB should work reasonably quickly.
